Imagine You Were a Child Again

I forgot it was Friday…

When I saw Lisa Jo Baker’s tweet on Twitter I remembered.  I link up with her Five Minute Friday prompt weekly.  Here’s a little about that…

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

OK, are you ready? Please give me your best five minutes on…

Imagine…

GO

Imagine if you were a child again.  I watch our two boys and their silliness and energy.  Imagine if we had their innocence, playfulness, and creativity again…

We would swim and splash without worrying about getting our hair wet or being a little cold.

We would laugh a lot.

We would lounge more and run for fun.

We would not worry so much about fashion or appearance at all…our boys have been known to wear things backwards, unmatched, and dirty.

We would question, listen, and engage in the world so sweetly.

We would be less hurried.

Imagine if you were a child.  What would a perfect summer day be like?  Perhaps one of the blessings of being a mom, for me is, that I do not have to imagine.  I can be child like from time to time.  I’m ever so thankful that there is a world of wonder to be seen through the eyes of our children.

  1. So very true – us mamas get the wonderful excuse to join in on child-like fun daily. Thank you for the reminder of this blessing. Great five minute post!
