I pray you (and I) will approach the throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. —Hebrews 4:16
God is Accessible…written as one of the many attributes of God in the Moms in Touch Prayer Book, my good friend Kim handed to me. She is passing the torch of sorts. As a living Titus example, she is a mentor to me, the younger mom.
“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. 6 Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.”
Her journey is a step ahead of mine. Raising two boys who are slightly older than our own boys. A 5-10 year lead is a huge thing in the mothering world. Her hand me downs of wisdom, clothing, books, and grace are not unnoticed. She has encouraged me also to follow in her footsteps in leading a Moms in Prayer group in our new community. God wants us to approach the throne.
Just as we want our friends and neighbors to notice us, our children, and spouses, God also wants us to acknowledge Him. Our sweet three year old son, Bryan, had an amazing creation this week: “the God Caller”
I am encouraged by his sweet prayers lifted up through some PVC pipe. He wanted healing for a boo boo on his knee. I know my husband and I have modeled prayer, calling on God, and we must continue to do that. He wants us to call on Him for all things…healing, strength, peace, and in praise. Who are you calling? How do you call for help? I encourage you to approach Him…he is always there for you, and for me.
